Keep your wood watch clean! Here are some tips.

Keep your wood watch clean! Here are some tips.

Wooden watches can be an expensive investment, so you need to make sure that you are taking good care of it. If you decide to purchase one of our wooden watches and are wondering about how to keep it working properly and looking good for as long as possible, then here are some key tips from JAMBO.

Wear frequently

Some people reserve their wooden watch for special occasions in an attempt to keep in mint condition for a long time. Au contraire, you should wear your wooden watch more frequently if you want to keep it looking good. The wood develops a richer patina the more it’s worn.

Dont go swimming

Wooden watches are not waterproof. Most of our watches are splash resistant, so you don’t have to worry about it coming into contact with water when washing your hands or in the event of sudden rain. However, most watches will sustain damage if immersed in water. Don’t shower or swim when wearing a wooden watch.

Do Not polish

Wooden watches do not need any polishing. Just wear it normally, and with time, it will keep looking better and better. Polishes like Fantastik or Pledge can find their way into the crown of the watch and mess up with the movement. If that happens, your watch won’t last for as long as it should.

Cleaning your Wooden watch from JAMBO

Your watch will collect dust and other tiny particles while wearing it, so it needs to be cleaned regularly to remove them. Use a soft cotton cloth dipped in a mixture of lemon juice and olive oil (one teaspoon each, thoroughly mixed). Gently wipe the dirt off and remove any residue with a dry cotton cloth. Our wooden watches will last a lifetime with care, so take good time and effort to care for it.

Follow the tips outlined above if you want to keep your watch in good condition for a long time.
